SINGA and Rugby Club Suresnes commit to inclusion

For the first time in France, a professional rugby club is partnering with an organization dedicated to the inclusion of exiled individuals. This partnership between Rugby Club Suresnes (RCS) and SINGA aims to promote an ambitious societal mission : to build a harmonious way of living together, where respect, solidarity, and inclusion form the pillars of our society. Thanks to this collaboration, SINGA’s logo will be present on all the club’s jerseys for a year, a strong symbol in favor of social inclusion.

Rugby and inclusion : a historical evolution

Rugby, particularly in English-speaking countries and France, has long been perceived as a sport reserved for the social elite. Often associated with a white, male, and bourgeois culture, this sport has, in certain contexts, fostered discriminatory behaviors and social exclusions.

However, over the decades, the fundamental values of rugby – respect, solidarity, team spirit – have paved the way for greater diversity and inclusion. The transformation of rugby has been marked by initiatives aimed at combating racism and promoting the inclusion of minorities. Local and international actions have multiplied to make this sport a meeting space for all communities.

The International Rugby Board (IRB) implemented since 2003 a zero-tolerance policy against all forms of discrimination, emphasizing the importance of creating an inclusive playing environment for all. Modern rugby has seen the emergence of new inclusive practices such as wheelchair rugby or flag rugby, and has experienced accelerated feminization with a 22% increase in female players between 2019 and 2021.

A symbolic partnership between SINGA and Rugby Club Suresnes

The partnership between SINGA and Rugby Club Suresnes marks a milestone in the social transformation of rugby. It demonstrates that this sport is a powerful tool for social inclusion, capable of bringing people together beyond their origins and cultures. By associating its name with SINGA, RCS shows a strong commitment: to support people from migrant backgrounds and promote inclusion through sports.

This partnership is symbolized by exceptional visibility : for an entire year, the SINGA logo will appear on all the club’s jerseys. This gesture represents a new era for rugby, where diversity and inclusion are celebrated in every match. By displaying this logo, Rugby Club Suresnes positions itself as a catalyst for change within the French sports landscape.

« Partnerships in favor of inclusion are not limited to major clubs or international institutions. True change happens on every field. This partnership between SINGA and Rugby Club Suresnes shows that inclusion can have a strong impact at every level of sports. » said Benoît Hamon, CEO of SINGA Global.

Rugby Club Suresnes: a history of social engagement

With over 50 years of existence, Rugby Club Suresnes has always been a key player in youth training and the transmission of positive social values. Founded with an educational mission, the club has evolved while maintaining its local and family roots. Now professional, RCS has never lost sight of the importance of social engagement through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

The partnership with SINGA reinforces this commitment, adding a new dimension: the inclusion of exiled individuals. The club thus shows that sport can be a vector for social progress, and that the diversity of talents not only allows a team to evolve but also strengthens social bonds in the community.

Raising awareness and engaging supporters : agents of change

This partnership is not limited to the field. It invites supporters and the general public to actively take part in this social transformation. A digital communication campaign will be launched, featuring inspiring videos and testimonials from players and SINGA members. The goal is to turn supporters into ambassadors of inclusion, to raise their awareness of social issues that go beyond the realm of sport.

In parallel, special events will be organized, allowing supporters to get directly involved in the project. These events, which will celebrate diversity and solidarity, will become key moments where different communities will meet, creating spaces for dialogue and mutual understanding. Stay tuned!
